Chow down time

pigs

Government wants the senate to vote on regulatory framework for the operation of the NBN.

But no one outside of government has seen an actual NBN plan. We’re assured a plan does exist, and it’s good. Really really good. Brilliant even. Just can’t show it to anyone. Because it’s so secret you see. Even a senator can’t see it unless they agree not to speak about it.

Clearly the first round of chow down at the tax payer pig trough goes to the lawyers!

My fearless predictions:-

(i) it will cost tax payers an absolute fortune,
(ii) it will destroy all competitive options thereby forcing up prices,
(iii) in international terms it will leave Australia with expensive internet for a generation,
(iv) it won’t be finished on time,
(v) in the end they’ll sell it to a multinational for less than cost.
