Backing Up VMWare

Idealstor backup appliances are now certified for VMWare Consolidated Backup (VCB). VCB itself is great, it means you no longer need a backup agent inside each individual virtual server. But one of the costs of VCB is a dedicated proxy/backup server to run it - and seeing that an Idealstor backup appliance is shipped with Server 2003 it can kill two birds with one stone. You can install VCB directly on the Idealstor backup appliance and it provides that single backup server with site backup, ejectable SATA drives for off site storage without the need for a tape library. And, of course, you get disk speed, disk reliability, native file format storage and easier to use software.
