NBN Footy Anyone?

Our four regular readers will know whilst I love high speed internet I’m not a fan of the NBN rollout.
I don’t like the way they were handed the money before they submitted a plan. I’m suspicious that the plan was so great it had to be kept a secret. I think it strange how it’s exempt from the freedom of information act. I’m not a fan of governments pretending they’re good at business. I don’t like that the only way to ensure ‘success’ was to make any attempt at competition a criminal activity. I wonder how much integrity the guys running it have when they were in charge at Alcatel when that company broke the law bribing people.
In this story local ISP iiNet is having a go at Telstra and network access using the NBN legislation.
In this story the Green party says it’s a big win to have a parliamentary committee over seeing the roll-out of the NBN.
With $37 Billion dollars sloshing around system you’d think there was enough for all, but already the pigs are jostling at the trough. Remember, you heard it here first - over budget, late to deliver and a slow network by international standards when they finally get it built. You’d think after all these centuries we would have worked out design by committee is the worst outcome for all.

Carlton you cynic, surely the Australian Government will get it right. After all, just look at their environmental credentials and the national insulation scheme. Oh wait, yeah we’re scr*wed.
