You know the world wide recession has hit when…

In the first half 2009 Eastern Europe Group ‘Avalanche’ was responsible for blamed for a quarter of all phishing attacks. By the second half of 2009 they were pumping out almost two thirds.

Now that’s some growth statistics to write home about.

But then in April the group was only responsible for 59 campaigns, compared with 924 in October. That’s a huge 90% drop in business.

Clearly, the global economic down turn is real.
