Invisibility has BUGS
In an astonishing new discovery - researchers have found invisibility cloaks don’t work!
I know, I know, you’re as shocked and stunned as I am. I didn’t know invisibility cloaks existed outside of Harry Potter either.
In what can only be described as a ‘sterling piece of research’ by Baile Zhang and buddies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, it has been confirmed that invisibility cloaks have a bug.
This from the article;
If Zhang and co are correct, this could be a substantial blow for isotropic carpet cloaking. It means that the carpet cloaking effect has a limited angle of view.
O.M.G. - did you catch that? A limited angle of view!
It’s hard to describe how relieved I am that I didn’t pick one up at the cheakout of The Invisibility Warehouse. Because that’s the kind of spontaneous purchaser I am, it could easily have happened. What kind of putz would I look like now? I’d have been the laughing stock at my chess club as they spotted me sneaking in the door with a stupid grin on my face thinking I’d surprise them all. Imagine the catastrophe when the boss passes by and actually sees you sitting under the invisibility carpet sipping margaritas at ten in the morning.
In a world full of big problems and challenging times it’s comforting to know there are people with so much money they have nothing better to do than fund quality research like this.
