Can MailMarshal Find Credit Cards?

PCI compliance has become a big issue for anyone touching credit cards online. Part of the twelve part PCI compliance are requirements to protect stored cardholder data and encrypt its transport over open networks (that’s requirements three and four). I’m pretty sure the internet qualifies as an open network. But what if people start putting credit cards into your email system? Suddenly your email system is in the compliance firing line.

As we always say at WebSecure, you can’t control or fix something that you can’t see. Visibility is often the first step to the challenge; from there you can decide whether you need this stuff, together with all the compliance overhead, or you want to block it and not get your email system sucked into the compliance borg.

MailMarshal can detect credit cards inside emails. It’s built in, very easy and the video below shows you exactly how.

Watch it and find out before your compliance officer does!
